Evaluation Question 3

Question 3 on the evaluation was: What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

After constructing the documentary, print advert and radio trailer, I created a questionnaire that I will hand out to 20 members to the target audience and this will help me to evaluate how well I have done during the practical tasks and will also help me to answer the evaluation question 3: What have you learned from your audience feedback.
The questionnaire will ask how professional, informative and entertaining the three tasks were.
There will be 3 questionnaires: one for the documentary, one for the radio trailer, one for the print advert. This is the audience feedback questionnaire for the documentary.
The questionnaires are shown below in a SlideShare:

I also showed the members of the target audience by means of FaceTime and in person. They then filled in the questionnaire, I then analysed the results and  made this Glogster about what I have learnt from the audience feedback of the documentary:

I also made a Glogster about what I learnt from the audience feedback of the radio trailer:

To present the feedback I recieved for the print advert I created a SlideShare:

This is the video footage of audience feedback on the main task and the two ancillary tasks:

I divided my presentation into the 3 stages: research and planning, construction and evaluation stages, and i explained why I used the media technologies and also how I used them in the stages.
I decided to present this question in the form of a BrainShark which is embedded below:

Below is the draft of how the newspaper advertisement should look:

Codes And Conventions Of Radio Adverts

In todays lesson we listened to three radio adverts for documentaries/tv programmes which were: special needs pets, last chance to see and also bbc4 weather series. From listening to these we came up with what all three had in common and these formed the codes and conventions of radio adverts. When creating our radio adverts we are supposed to keep to these codes and conventions. The codes and conventions are shown below in a Glogster:

During this course, we learnt how to frame the interviews, for example, by using the rule of thirds and where the eyeline should be directed to and where the camera and the interviewer and the interviewee should be positioned. Whilst planning our documentary I drew out storyboards of how the interviews should be framed and how the mise-en-scene will be relevant to the documentary. The interview storyboards are explained and presented in the form of a Glogster below:

Running Order

This lesson we created a running order for the 30 minute slot that our documentary should fill. Details of the running order and also a copy of it is shown on the BrainShark embedded below:

Secondary Research- Scheduling Interviews

During the process of making our documentary we have had to arrange interviews, before going to our interviews we had to think about the mise-en-scene and see if it was relevant. If the mise-en-scene wasnt relevant, then props had to be taken to the interview venue or use more cutaways to reinforce the brand of the persons occupation or to relate it to tea This is a Glogster showing our attempts at scheduling interviews and who we interviewed in the end:

Primary Research For Documentary

Before starting the filming of the documentary, research had to be collected which can help give us facts, numbers, dates that are important in the development of tea and this can help make the documentary both informative and enjoyable. The Brainshark underneath shows what research, and archive material was collected before the filming started:

Content For Documentary

In todays lesson we had to create a brainstorm containing information we wished to stick in our documentary. The information was found off numerous websites and sources, all of which are listed in "research for documentary post" From doing this we found out interesting facts such as: 90% of tea drank is black tea and the tea importation increased in 1750 when cane sugar became readily available. The rest of the brainstorm and information is presented in a Glogster presentation:

Preliminary Task- Production&Editing

This is the preliminary task video which we made, on the topic of mobile phones

We set up the camera on the tripod in our media room thinking that it would be a good mise en scene for the interview due to the fact that it is on technology.
I then filmed the interview and Lauren sat to the left of the camera and asked the questions. This was to make sure that the eyeline was not to the camera.
After we filmed the interview we then took the camera up to the common room and filmed Olivia and Kathryn using their mobiles, this was to then be used as a cutaway to slot between two questions
This SlideShare shows the editing process of the preliminary task:

This is the final video which we made:
